Natural Events Happening in April

By late April most of the weaned Northern Elephant Seal pups have gone out to sea to begin feeding, which in turn attracts Great White Sharks who come in to feed.

Elephant Seals begin sloughing off winter coats (molting).

The Snowy Plover nesting season begins and runs through August. Their nesting areas are located on the dunes (foredunes) and upper parts of the beach. So be cautious and mindful were you step when exploring local beaches. More info at: Snowy Plover Soap Opera , where you can follow the continuing life saga of Mrs. Aquablue-Whiteorange. What became of her husband? He promised to watch the kids, but it’s been days now and he still hasn't returned home.
