Description: The Old Monterey Business Association (OMBA) is a nonprofit organization committed to enhancing and promoting the economic vitality and community spirit of Historic Downtown Old Monterey, and is a long time, certified member of the National Main Street Program .
OMBA produces a local Dining Guide, local monthly listings of available Commercial Space and a “Path of History” brochure that guides both locals and visitors through a celebration of Monterey's exciting past.

Historic Downtown with its well-marked Path of History, more than 460 shops, restaurants, hotels and businesses satisfies the wants and needs of residents and visitors alike.
One of the most popular events which takes place every Tuesday afternoon, (rain or shine) is the Old Monterey Market Place. This event is known for its fun and festive atmosphere and typically attracts more than 12,000 shoppers. It features a Certified Farmer's Market, a deliciously tempting Baker's Alley and lots of unique craft vendors, as well as various entertainers ranging from clowns and face painters, to singers and musicians. Interestingly, this is the largest weekly gathering in all of Monterey County.
Old Monterey also hosts a number of festivals and other special events throughout the year that celebrate the food, music, culture and history of California's Central Coast. Each of these fun, family-friendly festivals fill the Custom House plaza with delicious food, arts, crafts and music.
